The EPA’s Clean water act takes a blow after the Supreme Court decision to restrict the EPA’s authority to monitor wetlands; This is another setback to the agency’s ability to combat pollution. Experts in environmental law said the decision would sharply undercut the E.P.A.’s authority to protect millions of acres of wetlands under the Clean Water Act, leaving them subject to pollution without penalty. As Black and under-resourced communities continue to struggle due to climate degradation and toxic air and water, these restrictions are a violent blow.
